Prof. Dr. Jürgen Klankermayer

Jürgen Klankermayer is a full professor of Translational Molecular Catalysis at the Institute of Technical and Macromolecular Chemistry at RWTH Aachen University and, since 2021, managing director of the institute. He studied chemistry at the University of Regensburg, where he completed his diploma and Ph.D. After postdoctoral research stays at École Polytechnique in Paris and at the University of Oxford, he joined RWTH Aachen University in 2004 as a research assistant. He was later appointed junior professor and subsequently full professor, establishing a research program at the interface of molecular catalysis and sustainable chemistry. Since 2024 he serves as spokesperson of the WSS Research Centre catalaix, fostering interdisciplinary approaches to catalytic innovation.
