Dr. rer. nat. Alexander Hofmann started at Fraunhofer UMSICHT in July 2019. Since April 2021, he has been the Head of the Department of Thermochemical Conversion Technologes. He holds a doctorate in chemistry and focuses on thermochemical recycling processes for hard-to-recycle feedstocks. One key area of his work is on downstream processes for pyrolysis products and their conversion into basic chemicals for defossilized chemistry.
