In Our Series Products, Circular Economy is Standard
Pöppelmann, a leading family-owned company in plastics processing with around 2,500 employees, specializes in developing and producing sustainable plastic solutions for various industries, including automotive, food, medical, and horticulture. Climate protection through circular economy is a key pillar of our corporate strategy, firmly anchored in our initiative PÖPPELMANN blue®. Since 2018, we have been committed to making circular economy the standard in our series products, implemented through flagship projects across our four company divisions.
Our first flagship project, the circular plant pot from the TEKU® division – 100% recyclable and containing at least 80% post-consumer recycled material (PCR) – was introduced in 2018. To date, we have sold over 5 billion of these pots. In 2020, the K-TECH® division launched a mount for the sound generator in electric vehicles, made exclusively from fiberglass and PCR sourced from recycled packaging. In 2024, a jack adapter was added, manufactured from plastic waste from end-of-life vehicle disposal. Since 2022, the FAMAC® division has been producing a reaction vessel for medical technology, made from PCR derived from recycled packaging. This vessel, developed in collaboration with a customer, is designed to collect waste from diagnostics.
Currently, in our German production facilities, we use approximately 40% post-consumer recycled materials and an additional 10% post-industrial recyclates. All these achievements have only been possible through collaboration with our customers, suppliers, and stakeholders across the value chain.
The CVC 2025 provides us with an excellent opportunity to engage in discussions with key players in the circular economy and to develop new approaches together.
