Fahrradmeisterei Wuppertal: Sustainable Mobility and Vocational Inclusion

Fahrradmeisterei Wuppertal combines vocational qualification and social inclusion with sustainability and environmental responsibility in a forward-looking industry.

Its workshop services include repair, maintenance, servicing, and assembly of e-bikes and bicycles. Donated used bikes are professionally refurbished and returned to the usage cycle through second-hand sales. The Fahrradmeisterei also participates in structured take-back and recycling processes for bicycle tires and promotes climate-friendly mobility and sustainable urban transport alternatives through its own e-bike and bicycle rental service.

Within the bicycle workshop, recipients of benefits under the German Social Code Book II receive vocational training as bicycle mechatronics technicians and bicycle mechanics, while gaining professional qualification and workforce participation. In this sense, Fahrradmeisterei sees itself as an active contributor to skilled workforce development and a promoter of sustainable mobility.
