The Green Grass Strategy for Overcoming Barriers in Circular Transformation

Prof. Dr. Ulrich Lichtenthaler will address three major barriers regarding strategy, partnerships, and organization in companies’ transformation towards a circular economy and how to overcome these barriers. Based on the tool ‘Sustainability Innovation Map’, the ‘Green Grass Strategy’ indicates that companies need to go beyond focusing on ESG reporting obligations to leverage innovation opportunities. They further need to go beyond internal activities to capture the value of supply chain partnerships. In addition, they need to go beyond dedicated sustainability departments to leverage decentralized new core competencies.
