RECOSiC – sustainable and circular synthesis of silicon carbide

Until the development of the RECOSiC process, material synthesis in the sense of a circular economy was not considered technically feasible for ceramic materials. End-of-life ceramics were only used for inferior applications through so-called downcycling. However, strong research and development partnerships are enabling the introduction of circular economic models that are sustainable, resource-efficient and economically successful, even for demanding materials, thanks to new technological processes.
