High quality fibres and films from plastics recyclates – Perspectives for geotextiles and roofing applications

Non woven fabrics, films and foils are essential components when producing geotextiles and roofing materials. However, for the most part, they are produced from virgin plastics, while consumers and producers alike are ever on the lookout for more sustainable options. We will present the results of a project of eight Fraunhofer-Institutes working together under the lead of Fraunhofer’s Cluster of Excellence Circular Plastics Economy CCPE looking at solutions involving recycling plastics, but also bioplastics.
