Why the planet needs the Circular Valley

Our current linear economy is fundamentally unsustainable. To overcome this paradigm, our industry must transition from its fossil foundation to renewable resources for both energy and raw materials. This transition is particularly challenging for the chemical industry since carbon is at its core of most of its products. In this contribution, we therefore present transition pathways towards chemicals and plastics within the planetary boundaries. The circular carbon economy is identified as the key enabler.
