The Rhineland is widely known for its cultural treasures, rich history, research excellence, economic strength and unique lifestyle. Based on the strong regional identity, the Metropolitan Region Rheinland was founded by 35 partners in 2017 to further empower the Rhineland as a significant economic center and living space within Germany and the EU.

By uniting counties, cities, chambers of commerce, chambers of crafts, and regional organizations, the association addresses key issues in regional transformation towards climate neutrality, energy and traffic infrastructure as well as circular economy. The collective strength of the Rhineland enables the region to compete for talent, ideas, and investments on a global level. Promoting sustainable practices and fostering innovation in circular economy solutions is critical to ensuring a future-proof regional transformation.
